Vetersalud - Petsalud Alliance celebrates its annual Congress in "On-line" format
As has been a tradition for 15 years, Vetersalud - Alianza Petsalud has held its Annual Congress that took place on January 30 and 31. This year, due to the national health situation, they opted for the online format. The number of attendees and the final success of the Congress have exceeded all expectations.
Madrid, January 8, 2021.- The Annual Vetersalud Congress - Alianza Petsalud is already a traditional event in the Spanish veterinary sector. Faithful to its annual appointment, Vetersalud - Alianza Petsalud has held its Annual Congress for another year, this time, in videoconference format. “During 2020, for a long time, we hoped to hold our congress in person, but, for reasons already known to all, we had to switch to the online format and the results have been pleasantly positive,” explains Jose Antonio Carrillo, CEO of Vetersalud - Alianza Petsalud.
The Congress, held the last weekend of January, had more than 270 registered attendees and, as usual, with the support and collaboration of the main laboratories in the sector. During the weekend, in full-day sessions, veterinarians from Spain and Portugal, representatives of laboratories and companies in the sector enjoyed 17 presentations, divided into three blocks of information: "Current panorama of the Veterinary sector", "Management and clinical cases ”, And“ New trends in the sector ”.
The Congress was opened by the President of CEVE, Delia Salerno, who offered an interesting vision on the digital transformation in the veterinary sector in a presentation under the suggestive title: “to digital transformation, either you acclimatize or acclimatise”.
Scientific presentations on Mitral Valve Disease followed, by Germán Santamarina, Vector Diseases, behavior in cats during confinement with the ethologist Paula Pérez Fraga and anesthesia in geriatric patients with Nacho Redondo. The day ended with an excellent coaching session, with José Hilario Martín Santos, who explained how to overcome the vertigo of the dizzying change that the sector has been experiencing in recent years.
The activity continued on Sunday, January 31, alternating management presentations, such as Enrique Barreneche's presentation on human resources management or the presentation on techniques to achieve effectiveness in interpersonal relationships, with others of a scientific nature on feline heartworm. the differences in the management of feline and canine diabetes, the nutritional management of dermatological problems, reversible medical sterilization, anesthesia in ophthalmological patients, with Nacho Redondo, and to close, Gustavo Machicote explained the use of monoclonal antibodies in dermatology.
The Congress also had the opportunity to learn more about the evolution of Vetersalud and its ambitious project "Alianza Petsalud", which is now one year old. "Alianza Petsalud is a project made by veterinarians and for veterinarians," says José Antonio Carrillo, "a step forward in our Vetersalud project that links us in a more intense way with clinics, now through a Joint-Ventur model that it will allow the creation of the leading group of Veterinary Clinics and Hospitals in Spain with a full and determined vocation for veterinary excellence ”.
It was a different congress but it did not lose its essence. “During this Congress, both the Vetersalud Group - Petsalud Alliance clinics, the invited veterinarians from Spain and Portugal, as well as the laboratory participants and the rest of the attendees, have felt very united before this historical moment that we are living. But without a doubt, for us it has been a success because this pandemic has not stopped us and has not prevented us from getting together to receive our dose of science and knowledge transfusion ”, says Jose Antonio Carrillo, CEO of Grupo Vetersalud - Alianza Petsalud.
